BRS Occasional Publications

In addition to our main series of volumes, we produce an Occasional Series that is purely electronic. This is mostly published on the Bristol Record Society Collection of the Internet Archive, albeit some of it, such as spreadsheets, are on our our own website. The occasional series is for work that may be shorter and less developed, or less thoroughly checked, proof-read and presented than would be expected of our formal volumes. It is still subject to review and copyediting by our General Editors, however, and considered to be of sufficient value and quality to be worth putting in the public domain under our inprint.

In 2024 we decided to start numbering our Occasional Series and issuing each one an ISBN. This includes the retrospective numbering of earlier items, going back to 2018, when we first started experimenting with the publication of additional online material, beyond that found in our regular volumes. Thus far only nos. 8-10 are in their final format, with ISBNs, albeit all the earlier material is still available online, either on the Internet Archive or from our own website.
