Stories

…from the archives

This section of the website will feature short peer-reviewed articles about Bristol’s history, based on research by established scholars. Rather than being full articles, these stories are intended to highlight archival discoveries that throw new light on aspects of Bristol’s history. These stories illustrate the extent to which History is rooted in explorations conducted in archives and through primary sources: investigations that include both manuscripts and printed / digitised works.
